Volunteering at Operation Oklahoma
If you are interested in volunteering your service at Operation Oklahoma, there are several opportunities for you or your group to choose from at one or more of the event locations:
Greeting Veterans and Visitors - As visitors are entering the events, our goal is to shake each Veteran’s hand, welcome them to the event and thank them for their service.
Information Booth Attendant - Providing information about Veterans’ organizations and support entities around the state as well as event activities.
Set Up at July 2, 3, or 4th Events - Preparing the grounds for the event. This will include, but is not limited to, stocking merchandise booths, setting up chairs and tables, and setting up displays.
Tear Down / Clean Up at July 2, 3, or 4th Events - Dismantling the site after the event. This will include, but is not limited to, tearing down displays, repacking merchandise, loading and moving things, taking down signs and general clean up activities.

Operation Oklahoma - Tulsa
- July 2nd, 2010
- Classic Rock Concert at the University of Tulsa Chapman Stadium and Fireworks Display.
Operation Oklahoma - Bricktown
- July 3rd, 2010
- All-day event to include performances by Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra and military bands, Veteran Ceremony, and possible Veteran Center Stand Down to provide homeless Veterans free medical and dental services as well as clothing, food, showers, counseling, etc. Additionally, all museums and other tourist venues in Oklahoma City will be free to Veterans.
Operation Oklahoma - Norman
- July 4th, 2010
- Reaves Park, Norman. – All-day event to include concert, flyovers, fireworks, color guards, military choirs, patriotic salute, and Veteran Ceremony. The Dignity Memorial Wall will also be on display to the public.
